GENESYS Consulting has a 6 month contract position, with the possibility of extension, for a Network Operations Center consultant in Albany, NY.
POSITION SUMMARY
Network Operations Center (NOC) provides monitoring the client’s infrastructure and applications using state of the art applications. The NOC responds to events recording incidents and managing incidents through their lifecycle. Incident management includes but is not limited to inquires, problems and incidents as reported by internal and external customers, as well as those driven by automated alarms. The position will serve as dispatcher for the escalation of complex issues and be accountable for issue resolution and/or service delivery to the customer.
The Client’s Network Operations Center maintains their tool sets as administrators of the monitoring tools. The NOC also supports after hour Service Desk functions leveraging HP OpenView ServiceCenter using the ITIL Service Management and Service Delivery Frameworks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.Monitoring of the client Information Technology infrastructure and applications at multiple locations that include data centers, applications, networks and servers
2.Monitor and responding to events and issues using guidelines and procedures, react to automated system alerts and respond with appropriate action per the defined procedure and event response playbook
3.Provide support in resolving IT-related issues during the first contact with customer, as well as, diagnosis and dispatch to additional groups
4.Provide Tier 1 support for the IT organization
5.Properly log all support requests and activity into HP OpenView ServiceCenter and NOC log
6.Ownership of all support requests from initiation to resolution
7.Properly escalate issues in accordance with established procedures. If required escalate support coordinating triage to restore production services.
8.Adhere to IT Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
9.Perform system, network and application administration tasks as defined
10.Shift work and on-call coverage required
